My first train ride...from TAIPEI
Train ride, YES PLEASE!
One happy customer...(considering our train departure was after midnight, and we were DEAD tired)
We spotted our departure!! Number 82!! Finally...
President Uchtdorf...in Taipei???!!
First headset I have ever had to use. Joyous.
I can't decide if I like the Energy Solutions Center better...this gymnasium was pretty spacious!
Next stop...TAIPEI...
...more scooters...
Aerial view of Feng Yuan, downtown! Amazingly crowded..
Downtown Feng Yuan...again, let me remind you: NO ROAD RULES...so you better watch your step.
View of Feng Yuan from my lush hike through the tropics
This little creek-ish type water formation was absolutely gorgeous, filled with nature's finest.
BEHOLD...I present the GIANT spider. Seriously...with his legs spread, about the size of a cantaloupe. Want some???
Isn't this a doozie??
Little bathtub-ish looking basin behind me. Another hike treasure.
Hike glories. Hike buddies.
We found this cockroach in our apartment, so we fed it to the spiders...listed below! The fate of a cockroach...not a pleasant one.
Mwha ha ha...the spider is ready to eat Frankie..
Nothing like a dose of awesome hiking and some awesome natural light...otherwise known as the sunset.
'Tis a fine looking bridge, eh?
My favorite picture in Feng Yuan, as of yet. I love the cloud formation with the red chinese letters.
Bing-Sha madness (Taiwan smoothie tasties). YUM
All of us with Hello Kitty and Jenna (owners of the Bing-Sha drink shop)
I sucked out and ate a small snail that had been roasted in garlic. Quite the delicacy here. It was pretty good.
I don't have a cat, I don't have a dog, I have a beetle instead!! All the kids have beetle fights...some pet that must be, right?
Me, Laura and Katy eating a mongolian de-lish at the Night Market!
Hanging out with JaNae, Meg, Kristy, myself and Kevyn.
Feng Yuan Train Station. I love you.
I love patterns, especially if they are made out of grass!!
Holy Shrine goodness! Me and Laura spotted this little treasure (shrine) in Feng Yuan.
Door greetings, courtesy of me and Laura!! Isn't it precious?
Our lovely kitchen!! Hi guys!!
My bike!!! I seriously LOVE my bike.
First of all, great pictures!! You're quite the photographer! Neat travel to hear Pres. Uchdorf. Amazing spider shots. But, I can't believe you 'sucked out a snail and ate it!!! Yuck! Other than than, it was good to see your living accommodations and the sites in the city. Neat grass cut-outs. Thanks for posting all of it--I ENJOYED!!!
ReplyDeleteBy the way, what is "a bad case of the gigs?"
ReplyDeleteMama, one night I was hysterically giggly. In spite of my tears, and blows of laughter, and feeling very tired, I commented to my roommate, I have the GIGS. Well, since we were all tired and a bit out of it, we started laughing EVEN more!! So, now we just refer to "the gigs" as anything extraordinarily weird, or unique. Consider it an inside joke. Haha.
ReplyDeleteLIBBALICIOUS!!!! Taiwan looks AWESOME!!! I want to go there! and Italy...I want to go everywhere. Have fun. I can't wait for XANADU!!!
