BRIDESMAIDS

Kristen Wiig and Melissa McCarthy, move over!
they were swell bridesmaids, but Kaylee and I make better ones
on Wednesday 6/18/2014
Ellie and Malcolm were married
what a treat to spend a wonderful day with the lovely lovers

the newlyweds were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple and then proceeded with a
fantastically delicious luncheon at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building

the day was filled with love, friends, laughter,
lavender and graytreats and
lots and lots of documenting

to Mr. and Mrs. Jenkins
 (the lovey dovey couple)

ooooooh
did I mention that I was asked to
make and create the Wedding Cake ?!?!
i have never ever ever made a wedding cake before.
good grief

here's what I came up with
(all you professionals out there, don't judge my lack of expertise)

Love.
with one word, things begin to happen.
Smiles are worn, dances are danced,
happiness is spread,
 hands are united in marriage,
cakes are baked and bridesmaids
continue to act maniacally.
but.. it's all done out of love.

MAUI 2013

Is that bad??
sometimes when i get bored or have nothing to do (which seems few and far in between) i look through old photos and then i get way reminiscent. that's what happened tonight. is that bad?? i was looking through photos of when i went to Maui last year.. and i want to go back! something has to be arranged.

per usual, i complied some shots together and created something (hopefully) watchable.
this little hobby of mine will be the death of me.

SPRING BREAK

wow, spring break has definitely come and gone!
hawaii has always been such a fun place for me to vacation, because of the relaxing nature that the islands provide. my first vacation to hawaii was back in 2007, and i have tried to make it a yearly vacation - so far, so good. there are many things i love about hawaii, and i love all the islands. each island is so different, but i have to say that kauai is my favorite island. this year, i was busy with graduate school as well as with work and i just needed a break. my sister's best friend lives on Oahu and we were able to find way cheap tickets, so we booked the flight! i love when things like that happen. i couldn't decide what pictures i wanted to post, so i made a small video instead...
who doesn't love a fun video?!

RECIPE CONTEST

it's true, I truly do enjoy baking.
I rarely get time to do it, though. blast you graduate school and work! this past year, i saw a contest through colavita olive oil (if you haven't been cooking with colavita, I highly encourage). the contest required you to incorporate colavita olive oil, so I chose to do a variety of yummy crepes (breakfast, savory and sweet). the beauty of crepes is that they are versatile- you can cater it to any type of meal and be satisfied. although I didn't win the grand prize (darn), i had such a fun time baking, eating and filming. i will try again next year...
