SAN JOSE DEL CABO, MEXICO

Landing at the Salt Lake City airport : check.  Making the trek home to North Ogden after 7 months: check. But what topic of conversation seems appropriate for the car ride home? TRAVELING, of course!  It seems that whenever this "magically delicious" word is mentioned, my whole body starts tingling and plans are already being made to go somewhere. Some call it a sickness. I call it pure pleasure.

Let's complete this story. After 3 weeks of being home, I once again packed my bags, drove to the airport (my second and most beloved home) and set sails for CABO, MEXICO.

Located at the tip of the southern Baja California peninsula, Cabo rests in the Mexican state of Baja California Sur. Cabo is known for its sandy beaches, resort spa towns (balnaerio), cultural events and food and the very distinctive sea arches called EL ARCO DE CABO SAN LUCAS.

So welcoming...

Cute little airport

We rented a car, changed some money (Pesos), learned some quick Spanish, and headed down the Mexico 1 highway.

City of happening..

Hanging with the locals

Flea Markets~ I sure do fancy the outdoor markets, farmers markets, night markets, etc...check out all those colors, small items of delight and palms! Love.

I like this street sign, AND the random man in the background.

After we toured the town and the Mexico 1 highway, we stopped at MEGA (similar to Walmart/Target), stocked up on Mexican food delicacies (yummy bakery items!). Then we ventured to our resort, CABO AZUL, where we would spend the next 5 days laying by the pool and ocean, drinking  pina colada's and enjoying serenity...awe~

~Welcome to Cabo Azul Resort~

They have this little restaurant hut in the middle of the pools... it was adorably quaint.

Traveling mustache, of course~

Enjoying some pina colada goodness...

'Twas a Matzeltov moment indeed: as I set foot to explore the magical resort, my eyes landed on the marriage hall, which was adorned with Christian and Judaism symbols. Apparently, many couples celebrate their big day by having the actual wedding at the resort, along the oceanside. My obsession with the Jewish Star of David was definitely documented (this was actually located on the ceiling, so if you failed to look up, you'd miss this classic beauty!)

The bride and groom stand at the front, overlooking the ocean...how adorably serene.

We went to the TOWN SQUARE (called Zocolo) which is the main plaza in San Jose del Cabo, and is home to the Cathedral. The Cathedral is a reminder of San Jose's vivid history as a mission.
We ate dinner, sipped pina colada's and enjoyed the mariachi bands and dancing in the middle of the square plaza.

We took the Glass Bottom Boat to scope out the magical sea rock formations called EL ARCO DE CABO SAN LUCAS.  These rock formations are naturally carved from water and wind erosion. It is also a hot spot for sea lions~ there were MILLIONS of them!

LOVER'S BEACH

Embarking to the splendid eatery of THE OFFICE, a restaurant located on the sandy beach. Here we enjoyed some mariachi bands, sopapillas, eating on the beach and enjoying the view and sound of the ocean.

~We had some fun with the "TRAVELING STACHE"~

...because we KNEW she wanted to wear one...

~My sister and brother were both up for the challenge....they definitely passed~

Since we had been to Lover's Beach, it was time to experience....DIVORCE BEACH, which was absolutely beautiful. We went right before the sunset, and as you can imagine, the colors of the sunset reflected off the rocks and water, making it absolutely a sight to see.

To finish off the serenity of this magical baja, me and my sister and sister-in-law decided to go all out and make the experience worth it....we had a massage on the beach. It was one of the moments that seemed unreal, yet I wish it could have lasted longer. If you ever go to Cabo, you must embark on this relaxing, surreal adventure~

Pre-relaxing room, before we head outside to the beach

Just look at those massage beds... awe~

After gallivanting in a gloriously relaxing, beach filled, pina colada filled, sun basking filled resort, it was indeed, time to say goodbye...

Going from this....

So, we left the warm sands only to find a most unwelcome temperature back in Utah...

....to this

I guess we had glitter toes to help us cope, though.... ha!
